Since I was a kid, I had 2 passions: music and computer science.
I studied classic saxophone at the Conservatory of Music in my home town (Livorno, Italy), and I taught myself how to play piano, flute, guitar, and whatever instrument I could get my hands on. I always wrote music. I wrote for theatre, short films, ballet, chamber music, orchestra, bands.
When I was 8 my parents got me a ZX Spectrum, and I immediately started writing code. I studied computer science at the University of Pisa (PhD).
Now I am co-founder and CTO of the London-based start-up BioBeats: we merge generative and adaptive music with physiological signals (users heart rate and stress level). Our apps use PureData as the audio engine.
